HMS Grade School Grade 5-15 - Ms. Traci Yoshiyama

Welcome to the wonderful world of 5th grade! 

My name is Traci Yoshiyama and I am the Language Arts and Social Studies 5th grade teacher.  My classroom motto is “The World is Our Classroom”.  When you walk into my classroom students are often times not sitting down quietly or writing notes from the board; they are talking, sharing, creating, collaborating, and learning by DOING.  Many times, my students are asked to look at real-life situations and apply it to their lives, finding connections with people and places all over the world. 
Through reading, writing, exploring our past and current happenings, students are able to look deeply within themselves and discover who they are and who they want to become.
